Why it matters

The cost of filing late

  • Late B1 fees

A late B1 costs €100 on the day after the deadline, then €3 per day up to a maximum of €1,200 per return.

  • Loss of audit exemption

Filing a B1 late twice within five years costs a small company its audit exemption for the next two years, which is usually far more expensive than the late fee.

  • Strike-off risk

Failing to file an annual return can lead to the CRO starting involuntary strike-off proceedings against the company.

What's included

Year-end, done properly

  • Financial statements

Prepared under FRS 105 or FRS 102, with the abridged version filed at the CRO so less detail is made public.

  • Corporation tax

Trading profits taxed at 12.5%, with capital allowances, losses and start-up relief claimed.

  • Deadline tracking

We track your company year end and Annual Return Date and tell you what records we need and when.

FAQ

Annual accounts and CT1 questions

When is the CT1 due?+

The CT1 is due on the 23rd of the ninth month after the company's accounting year end, with the tax paid on ROS by the same date. A December year end means a CT1 the following 23 September.

What is the corporation tax rate in Ireland?+

Trading profits are taxed at 12.5%. Non-trading income, such as rental or investment income, is taxed at a higher rate. Qualifying new companies may be able to claim start-up relief in their early years.

What is an abridged account?+

A shortened version of the financial statements that small companies can file publicly with the CRO alongside the B1. The full accounts are still prepared for the directors and for Revenue; the abridged version limits what is on the public record.

My company has no VAT and no staff. Do I need a monthly package?+

No. Company Compliance covers your year-end accounts, CT1, B1 and director's Form 11 for a single yearly price. A monthly package only makes sense once you have VAT returns or payroll to run.
