The honest part
We can't make penalties disappear, but we can reduce them
Interest on late tax builds every day. Filing before Revenue contacts you can reduce penalties through a qualifying disclosure, and phased payment arrangements spread what you owe. The sooner you start, the less it costs.
Interest
Revenue charges daily interest on tax paid late, and a surcharge applies to late income tax and corporation tax returns. Filing stops the surcharge from rising, and paying stops the interest.
Coming forward early
Where returns are outstanding, telling Revenue before they contact you is generally treated more favourably than waiting. The exact treatment depends on your circumstances and is not something we can promise in advance.
Phased payments
If you can't pay in full, Revenue may agree a phased payment arrangement that spreads the amount over time, subject to its own criteria.
FAQ
Catch-up questions
Will contacting you alert Revenue?+
No. Your review with us is confidential. Nothing is sent to Revenue until you've agreed the quote and the work is ready to file, and we'll talk you through each step before it goes.
I can't afford the tax I owe. Should I still file?+
Yes. Filing stops surcharges building and puts you in a position to agree a phased payment arrangement with Revenue if you need one. Not filing makes both the tax and the penalties harder to deal with.
How long does a catch-up take?+
A one-year backlog typically takes around two to four weeks once we have the records, with urgent deadlines dealt with first. Larger or more complex backlogs take longer, and we'll give you a timeline with your quote.
How much will it cost?+
After the free review we give you one fixed quote. A typical starting point is €295 per year of backlog, with individual VAT3s and RTDs from €95 each. Late Form 11, CT1 and B1 work is quoted once we know what's outstanding.
